Garmin Forerunner 405 Support
Do you know when Garmin Forerunner 405 will be supported?
Re: Garmin Forerunner 405 Support
Hi,
We'll support it when Garmin release Mac drivers for it.
Thanks & Regards
Stuart

Re: Garmin Forerunner 405 Support
Santa brought me a 405. Good thing, too, 'cause my Polar 625X was on its last legs. Anyway, Garmin says they'll have Mac support 1Q '09. Keeping my fingers crossed.....

Hi Nancy,
I think Garmin has a different calendar to the rest of us - Mac support was originally promised for Q3, 2008!
I seem to remember that Mac support for their other devices took a bit longer than promised.
At the moment, you should be able to import tcx files from the Windows Garmin Training Center software into iSMARTtrain - let me know if you have any problems.
Thanks & Regards
Stuart

OK, so where might they be hiding on the PC (I really HATE PCs)
Re: Garmin Forerunner 405 Support
Hi Nancy,
I think you need to export the data as a tcx file - I think it's in the 'File' menu. Like you, I try not to use PCs that often!
Thanks & Regards

OK, I'll give it a whirl. I'll let you know how it's working. The Garmin software surely doesn't compare to ISmartTrain. Although I do like the map functionality...
any chance you'll add it in the future???

Hi Nancy,
You can export to Google Earth (if you have that installed) in the current release - it's in 'Export' in the 'File' menu. I'm looking at mapping for a future release, and I'm just working on sorting out the licensing for Google Map or Maps Live at the moment.
Thanks & Regards
Stuart

If all things are the same Stuart, I mostly lean toward google maps, although I really like the "Birds Eye" view in Maps Live. I find it much more useful than street view honestly.
