Power Meter Stats

Post by JonG » Wed Jan 14, 2009 10:41 pm

Hi,

it i'd be really helpful if the software could calculate some more power stats such as Normalised Power, Intensity Factor and Training Stress Score (just been looking in the Training and Racing with a Power Meter Book! Any chance that those features might arrive and work with my Garmin 705 PowerTap data?

Hi,
Yes, those are coming in some shape or form. We can't use the names from the Power Training book as these are trademarks of PeaksWare LLC. I've asked them about licensing these, but got no reply from them.

Thanks & Regards

Probably in the next release (I've got them working in an internal version). We'll probably be using Dr. Phil Skiba's xPower & Bike Score calcs, which are pretty similar to the CyclingPeaks ones, as he's a lot more open about licensing these from him.

You'll find more details of these on his website, http://physfarm.com/

Thanks & Regards

I was wondering if there was an updated timeline on the power metrics?

Thanks, Rob

We'll have something once the final release of V3.0.6 is out.
